How to slove in standard form 1x+2y=-8

y=-1/2x-4

Explanation:

Here's why to put something in standard form we simply use the equation y=mx+b. So we can't have anything but a coefficient of one for y. So we have to get everything to one side first and isolate y. Now we did that our problem should look something like this: 2y=-x-8. So we divide the whole right hand side by 2, and we simply get: y=-1/2x-4.
