Letter A is the correct answer.

The South Carolina Exposition and Protest, also known as Calhoun's Exposition, was written by John Calhoun and its main purpose was to explain the reason why the South was nullifying the Tariff of 1828. Even though Calhoun's Exposition was not adopted by South Carolina legislature, the document was printed with amendment later on.
