Read the excerpt. From “The Lady of Shalott” by Alfred, Lord Tennyson There she weaves by night and day A magic web with colors gay. She has heard a whisper say, A curse is on her if she stay To look down to Camelot. She knows not what the curse may be, And so she weaveth steadily, And little other care hath she, The Lady of Shalott. And moving through a mirror clear That hangs before her all the year, Shadows of the world appear. There she sees the highway near Winding down to Camelot: . . . And sometimes through the mirror blue The knights come riding two and two: How does the Lady of Shalott experience the outside world? She sees the world through reflections in her mirror. She views the world through a window. Knights from Camelot bring her news about the world. People tell her secrets about the world.

The answer is: She sees the world through reflections in her mirror.

In the excerpt from "The Lady of Shalott," by Alfred Lord Tennyson, the weaver will be cursed to death if she looks down to Camelot, so she can only live if she sees the world through a mirror placed in front of her weaving machine. As a result, she becomes isolated and cannot see reality directly -she can only see shadows, the highway to Camelot and the knights.
