Round 3.456 to the nearest tenth

Answer:

3.456 rounded to the nearest tenth would be 3.5.

Explanation:

To round we look at the next smallest place value (i.e. the number to the right of the place you're rounding to).

If the number to the right is 5 or larger, you increase the number you're rounding to by (+1).

If the number to the right is smaller than 5, you keep the number you're rounding to the same.

Hope I helped! :)

Answer:

3.5

Explanation:

the tenths place is 4.

you look at the next next number which is 5 and follow this rule:

4 or below you leave it alone. 5 or above you give it a shove.

the 5 is telling the 4 to add one

ex. 4.63 (round to the nearest tenth)

6 is the tenths place. Look at the next number which is 3. If you follow the rule then you'll know to leave the 6 alone. answer: 4.6
