product = 3 × 8 = 24 and sum = 10

The factors are + 6 and + 4

Use these factors to split the middle term

3x² + 6x + 4x + 8 (factor the first/second and third/fourth terms )

= 3x(x + 2) + 4(x + 2) ← take out the common factor (x + 2)

= (x + 2)(3x + 4) ← in factored form
