In an average society or at least the American society. The norm is that a man and a woman will get married the woman will stay home and take care of the children cook, and clean, and the man will go out and make money for the family working a nine to five. a lot of the ideals are not as heavily idealized as they used to be. Although some people still carry these beliefs and those who don't have it instilled in them from the norms that they were taught as children. For example LGBTQIA+ are looked down upon for going against God, and not being the way god intended. this is why many of them were killed. and women who spoke out are seen as defiant and sinful. it is these harmful hateful values that build the foundation of hate crimes, racism, misogyny and homophobia. yet the people who suffer are the ones opposing unfair values.
