  • The Aztecs and Mayans established the central part of what is now Mexico (and in the case of the Maya some other countries)
  • Both had a more precise calendar than the Spanish used at that time.
  • Both Maya and Aztecs knew the wheel and used it in toys, as they had no draft animals they didn't develop it anymore.
  • Both had a type of ideographic writing
  • For both, cocoa was a gift from the gods, much appreciated for them.
  • They had a lot of organization in their neighborhoods and these were organized by profession; the neighborhood of the goldsmiths, weavers, potters, etc.
