To write in slope intercept form you will need to subtract the 2.5x from the left side and subtract it from the right. So you now have 8y= -2.5x+200. Then divide 8 out of 8y and from the right side. You might need to simplify the -2.5x over 8 out for your answer or to make it easier

Answer:

The slope is -.3125 and the y intercept is 25

The x intercept is 80

Explanation:

2.5x+8y=200

We want to get this in slope intercept form so we will solve for y

Subtract 2.5x from each side

2.5x-2.5x+8y=-2.5x +200

8y = -2.5x +200

Now divide by 8 on both sides

8y/8 = -2.5x/8 + 200/8

y = -.3125x +25

This is in the form y = mx+b where m is the slope and b is the y intercept

The slope is -.3125 and the y intercept is 25

To find the x intercept, set y = 0 and solve for x

2.5x+8y=200

2.5x = 200

Divide by 2.5 on each side

2.5x/2.5 = 200/2.5

x =80
