Distribute:


6-2x-7+2.8x=2x+5.3

Group like terms:


(6-7)+(2.8x-2x)=2x+5.3

Add like terms:


-1+0.8x=2x+5.3

Add 1 to both sides


0.8x=2x+6.3

Subtract 2x from both sides


-1.2x=6.3

Divide both sides by -1.2


x=-5.25
