Answer:

h = 7 – 0.5x

Explanation:

h = mx + b

The height of the candle decreases by 0.5 in/h, so

m = -0.5

y = -0.5x +b

When x = 0, h = 7.

7 = -0.5×0 + b

7 = 0 + b

b = 7

h = -0.5x + 7 or h = 7 – 0.5x
