Answer:

Today's mean price would be $2.34

Explanation:

The price of a can of beans at five supermarkets was $2.12, $2.21, $2.09, $2.42 and $2.36 respectively.

today each supermarket raised its price by $0.10. so the new price will be

$2.12 + 0.10 = $2.22

$2.21 + 0.10 = $ 2.31

$2.09 + 0.10 = $2.19

$2.42 + 0.10 = $2.52

$2.36 + 0.10 = $2.46

To calculate today's mean price of a can of beans, we use this formula

Mean=\frac{\text{Sum of all the values}}{\text{Number of values}}

((2.22+2.31+2.19+2.52+2.46))/(5)= (11.7)/(5)

Today's mean price would be $2.34
