During the period of 1945 and 1958 Irak was politically unstable, those years are best described as of political unrest. There were many attempts to have political stability and a civilian goverment. However there were many coups and in the end the older leaders will not committ to sharing the power with their opponents. Also the monarchy wanted to have a more active role. This all lead to the 1958 revolution, the disolution of the monarchy and the creation of the Republic of Irak in 1958.
