the equation to find the slope is

m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1) \\ m = ( - 1 - 2)/(0 - 4) \\ m = ( - 3)/( - 4) \: or \: (3)/(4)
now you have to use the point-slope formula

y - y1 = m(x - x1) \\ y - ( - 1) = (3)/(4) (x - 0) \\ y + 1 = (3)/(4) x \\ y = (3)/(4) x - 1
the equation of the line is

y = (3)/(4) x - 1
