In triangle ABC, Z is the centroid. Show all work.

Given: AZ = 9 and CN = 5.5.

A.What does it mean that Z is the centroid and what does it tell us about segments AN, BO, and CM?
B. Calculate the value of CB.

Answer:

A: If Z is the centroid, it means that it is the median to all segments it is on.

B: CN = 5.5 , we know that the given long end of a segment is 2 times the size of a whole (which , in total, is divided into 3 parts).

AZ = 9, since its a long side, 4.5 is half of that given line (AZ). Which means that the continuation of that whole line AN, which is ZN, is also 4.5. Hence, CB = 4.5•3= (13.5)
