The 1950s was when America was still recovering from the great depression. Because of this, there were still huge differences between minorities and white citizens. Mainly their treatment. Since America was run by white men, white men had the most privilege. Blacks, Asians, and even white females were looked down upon and separated from the white men. Jobs were specified to be only for white men, and people of color were not allowed to even apply. In the military, the blacks were separated from the whites, and led by white men. Segregated areas included bathrooms, public parks, public buildings, schools, workplaces, public transportation, and even graveyards.
