What could happen to the birds if the grasshoppers disappear? WHY?​

Grasshoppers are on most birds' diet so if the grasshoppers suddenly dissapeared, a lot of birds would be without a food source. So, those birds would either go hungry with nothing to eat or a meal substitute.
