Solution:

Let A, B and C get 9x, 8x and 7x respectively.

Total sum is 480.

9x+8x+7x=480

24x=480

Divide both sides by 24.

x=(480)/(24)

x=20

Now,

$A\ get =9x$

$A\ get =9(20)$

$A\ get =180$

Therefore, amount received by A is 180.
