(a) 2(1)²-5(1)

1²= 1

2×1= 2

2-5= -3

(b) 2(9)²-5(9)

9²= 81

81×2= 162

162-45= 117

(c) 2(4)²-5(4) +2(8)²-5(4)

4²=16

16×2= 32

32-20= 12

8²=64

64×2= 128

128-40= 88

88+12= 100
