Answer:

Slope = -4 and y-intercept = (0,6)

Explanation:

y = mx + c

m = gradient

→ Rearrange equation into y = mx + c format

16x + 4y = 24 ⇔ 4y = -16x + 24 ⇔ y = -4x + 6

→ To find the y-intercept, the x value has to be 0 so

y = -4 × 0 + 6 ⇔ y = 0 + 6 ⇔ y = 6

Answer:

y- intercept = 6, slope = - 4

Explanation:

The equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + b ( m is the slope and b the y- intercept )

Given

16x + 4y = 24 ( subtract 16x from both sides )

4y = - 16x + 24 ( divide all terms by 4 )

y = - 4x + 6 ← in slope- intercept form

with slope m = - 4 and y- intercept b = 6
