Gold is a better conductor of electricity than copper.

Why then, is copper usually used in wiring and not gold?

From what I remember in high school, they said that since gold is more expensive and not that easy to find, we try to use something that is in the same category and copper is the closest to it and also not expensive and not hard to find.
