We’re going to use the equation part/whole=%/100

X is going to act as the part, which in this case, is going to be how much commission is added to his salary from last week.

x/7000=40%/100

This gives us 2,800
We then add it into the salary from last week to find the salary with commission.

7000+2,800= 9,800

So now we know he averages about 9,800 each week there’s 52 weeks in a year we multiply it by 52 to find the total for the whole year.

9,800x52= 509,600 earned in 2011
