When the exponent is -1 you have to do 1/x x being the number being raised by -1. In this case thats 6

To simplify this equation we need to solve for "s" (feel free to use any other variable)

s-1 -> 1/8 ; 1/s-1 -> s

Once we have gotten this we can now solve 6^-1

6 -1 = 1/6
