Answer: x=-1

Explanation:

There are two ways I think of.

1st: Substitution

Given the equations, we see that both equations equal y, which means that you could set up this:

-x-6=x-4

We could solve this algebraically, and get:

-2=2x

-1=x

This means that -1 would be the answer.

2nd: Graphing

Graph the two equations, and get an intersection of (-1,-5). Ignore -5 because that is the y=coordinate. You will see that x=-1.
