No, there isn't a more efficient way to solve this system.

Yes, a more efficient way is to multiply the first equation by 4, add to eliminate y, then solve for x.

The value of x for the exterior angle of the polygon = 15

To find the value of x of the exterior angle of the polygon

Given that;

Sum of exterior angle of any polygon = 360°

To find the value of x,

The equation for the sum of the exterior angles can be set up as:

(5x + 5)° + (6x - 1)°+ (3x)° + (5x +3)° + (4x + 8)° = 360°

5x + 5 + 6x - 1 + 3x + 5x + 3 + 4x + 8 = 360°

5x + 6x + 3x + 5x + 4x + 5 - 1 + 3 + 8 = 360°

23x + 15 = 360°

23x = 360 - 15

23x = 345

Divides through by 23

x = 345/23

x = 15

Therefore, the value of the exterior angle of the polygon = 15
