Answer: C) 4x^2 - 4x + 1

Explanation:

To find the area you will multiply the length by the width.

Because it is a square, these are the same.

A = lw

(2x - 1)(2x -1)

4x^2 -4x + 1(the third choice)

To get this multiply the first 2 terms in each parenthesis.

2x(2x)= 4x^2

Then multiply the first term in the first ( )by the last term in the last ( ).

2x(-1) = -2x

and then multiply last term in the 1st ( ) by the first term in the last ( ).

Same as above = -2x

Finally, multiply the last terms in both parenthesis

-1(-1)= 1

Answer:

  • The area of the square is 4x² - 4x + 1.

Explanation:

We know that:

  • Area of square = Side²

Work:

  • (2x - 1)² = Area of square
  • => (2x - 1)(2x - 1)
  • => 4x² - 2x - 2x + 1
  • => 4x² - 4x + 1

Hence, the simplified area of square is 4x² - 4x + 1.

Hoped this helped.
