Asap anwer plssssss!!! Ed can ride 30km on the bicycle in the same time it takes him to walk 14km. If his riding rate is 10kph faster than his walking rate, what is his walking rate

Answer: 8.75

Explanation:

Let walking rate = x

Riding rate = x + 10

Time taken to ride 30km = time taken to walk 14 km

Time = distance / speed

Hence,

30/ (x + 10) = 14 / x

Cross multiply :

30x = 14( x + 10)

30x = 14x + 140

30x - 14x = 140

16x = 140

x = 140 / 16

x = 8.75

Walking rate = 8.75 kph
