Drivers see the stop sign, and will often speed up to try and get ahead of whoever may be coming in the intersection so that they do not have to wait. The traffic accidents typically occur when someone, who has the right of way, will proceed legally, and someone try to overtake said person, will end up in a T-Bone collision.
