Also the magnitude of the poverty was at an astronomical rate. On top of these problems, most of the countries were coming out of civil wars, so their governments were not have great stability. The hurricane destroyed roads slowing transportation of goods and people. The hurricane also crippled the agriculture sector, which was a huge source of the income for those countries. In Nicaragua, Honduras, and El Salvador combined, there was $10 billion dollars of damage, 9,000 deaths, 10,000 missing, and millions of others that was displaced.
