The treatment goals are to reduce the pain and swelling, promote healing of the ligament and restore the function of the ankle.

1. Stay rested
2. Recover fully before trying to walk on the leg
3. Stay off of the leg. Get crutches as well.
I know because I fractured my toe once and I didn’t know until a while after it happened, it’s still not fully healed.
