Answer:

11.4- average

12.5 - median

Explanation:

AVERAGE:

Add them up and divide by 8

MEDIAN:

1. Arrange the set from least to greatest.

6,7,9,12,13,14,14,16

2. Start from the first and last numbers and cross them out until you are left with the 2 in the middle. If there was an odd set of numbers, you would end up with one number.

7,9,12,13,14,14

9,12,13,14

12,13

3. Add the remaining two numbers and divide by 2.

12+13/2 = 12.5

To find the mean, add up all of the numbers and divide the result by 8.

To find the median, list all of the numbers from least to Greatest. In most cases, the one number in the center of the list is your median.

In this case, there are two numbers in the center. Take the two numbers in the center of the list and add them together. Divide the sum by two. The result of that division problem will give you the median. :)
