4(x+2)=2x+10
Start by distributing the four to each value in parenthesis, 4x+8=2x+10
Subtract 8 from each side to get x by itself on one side, 4x=2x+2
Do the same with 2x, 2x=2
Divide each side by two to get x by itself, x=1
