if a train can travel a distance of 480 km in 12 hours, how much time will it take to travel 360 km, assuming that the average speed is maintained throughout the journey?

time = 9 hour

Explanation:

1st case,

time(t)=12 × 60 × 60 sec

distance (d)= 480×1000m

speed =distance/time taken

= 480000/43200 m/s

2nd case,

as average velocity is maintained throughout the journey

distance (d')= 360×1000m

time (t')=?

speed =distance /time

or, 480000/43200= 360000/t

or,. t=(360000×43200)/480000

or, t= 32400sec

or, t= 32400/(60×60)

t= 9 hour
