Answer:

All most all of the absorption occurs in the small intestine.

Step-by-step explanation:

Chemicals in the small intestine digest food. Once food has been digested, it is then absorbed into our bodies through diffusion or active transport. The small intestine has 3 parts and each part plays a role in what is broken down. The duodenum is where the digested food and water begins to be absorbed. The digestive enzymes and bile from the pancreas and liver break down protein and fat.The jejunum is where food such as glucose, amino acids, vitamins, and fatty acids, are absorbed. The ileum is responsible for all the Vitamin B12 absorption. Chyme is what is left of food and water after its been absorbed. Whatever is left goes to the colon for elimination.

Majority of absorption occurs in the Jejenum

Step-by-step explanation:

Absorption of the majority of nutrients takes place in the jejunum, with the following notable exceptions: Iron is absorbed in the duodenum. Vitamin B12 and bile salts are absorbed in the terminal ileum. Water and lipids are absorbed by passive diffusion throughout the small intestine.
