Social media has played an instrumental role in getting students more involved in activist movements such as BLM.

Social media affects students in a vast way. It has helped students to get to know eachother and it has soarked friendships. It has led people to new interests and ideas that they can rally behind. Not only does social media connect people through interests and ideas, it also connects people through hobbies and shared activites. When people have things in common, they have more of an ability to create a friendship.

It, however, has also caused negativity in the lives of students. For example, many young people looking through famous people's social media accounts can gather false ideas of what an average person shoukd look like, do, or eat. This can have extremely detrimental effects in the lives of the person and in the lives of people around them.
