The general gas formula is expressed as;

P1V1/T1 = P2V2/T2

P1 and P2 are the initial and final pressure respectively

V1 and V2 are the initial and final volume respectively

T1 and T2 are the initial and final temperature respectively

If the temperature and pressure are both doubled, then;

P2 = 2P1 and T2 = 2T1

Given

V1 = 20.0mL

Required

New volume V2

Substitute the given parameters into the formula above as shown;

P1V1/T1 = P2V2/T2

20P1/T1 = (2P1)V2/(2T1)

20 = 2V2/2

20 = V2

Hence the new volume is also 20.0mL
