The value of x is 10 more than 5 times the value

x=10+5y

4=x+y

4=10+5y+y

4-10=6y

-6=6y

-1=y

x=5

therefore,

5y+10+y = 4

6y+ 10 = 4

6y = 4 -10

6y = -6

y = -1

X = 5y+10
