Answer:

102.857

Explanation:

First solve for x:

(x + (2x + 1) + (x/2-13) + 45 + (x + 22))/(5) = 83

x + (2x + 1) + (x/2 - 13) + 45 + (x + 22) = 83 × 5

x + 2x + 1 + x/2 - 13 + 45 + x + 22 = 415

(x + 2x + x/2) + (1 - 13 + 45 + 22) = 415

(7/2)x + 55 = 415

(7/2)x = 360

x = 720/7

Plug in the x values to the numbers:

  • x = 720/7 ≈ 102.857
  • 2x + 1 = 2(720/7) + 1 ≈ 206.714
  • x/2 - 13 = (720/7)/2 - 13 ≈ 38.429
  • 45
  • x + 22 ≈ 124.857

Order least to greatest:

38.429, 45, 102.857, 124.857, 206.714

Find the median:

102.857
