Do you approve of how Washington handled the Whiskey Rebellion? explain please

I disagree with what Washington did because he shouldn't have even made the law in the first place. People are angry so you're going to get a rebellion. I think Washington should have thought that through because people are going to make their own. It's a free country and we have a democracy, so they are technically allowed to rebel.

I believe that Washington handled the whiskey rebellion correctly. People were rioting against legal taxes, whether or not they were fair is a different debate but either way they were technically legal. This is why I support the way it was handled; Washington showed he would not allow people to take violent action against the law. By putting down the rebellion both swiftly and forcibly he showed his stance on this and discouraged future violent rebellions.
