William is making a pie, he uses 1/2 cup of strawberries. And he uses 2/3 cup of pineapple, What is the total of fruit in Williams Pie?

Answer: 1 1/6

Explanation:

You are adding the fractions; they do not have the same denominator so you have to find a common denominator which is six. Multiply the numerator and denominator for the first fraction by 3 and multiply the numerator and denominator for the second fraction by 2. After that you are left with a denominator of six and a numerator of 3+4. You you solve 3+4 which equals 7. You then get 7/6 can you simplify that fractions 1 1/6.
