x = 5 and the measure of the two angles is 110

Explanation:

since the lines a and b are parallel to each other and crossing the transversal we know that the two corresponding angles are the same meaning we can create an equation to help us find x

Since they are both equal out equation will look like this...

23x - 5 = 21x + 5

now we combine like terms and rearrange till the problem can be worked out.

-5 = -2x + 5

alrighty now we can solve

add -5 to both sides

-10 = -2x

divide both sides by -2

5 = x

Now that we have the value of x we can solve the equations separately.

since both the angles are the same we only need to solve one

I'm going to use the second one

21x + 5

now i add in the value of x

21(5) + 5

now I solve

105 + 5

110

Meaning the measure of the two angles is 110 each.
