Answer:

Insects in Bookers collection = 50 insects

Insects in Reginald collection = 137 insects

Explanation:

Total insects collected = 187

Reginalds collection are thirty-seven more than twice the number in Bookers collection.

Let

Insects in Bookers collection = x

Insects in Reginald collection = 2x + 37

How many insects are in Bookers collection?

Total insects collected = Bookers collection + Reginald collection

187 = x + (2x + 37)

187 = x + 2x + 37

187 = 3x + 37

187 - 37 = 3x

150 = 3x

Divide both sides by 3

x = 150 / 3

= 50 insects

Insects in Bookers collection = x

= 50 insects

Insects in Reginald collection = 2x + 37

= 2(50) + 37

= 100 + 37

= 137 insects

Total = 50 + 137

= 187 insects
