1- Stem cells can be used to treat conditions where cells are damaged or not working properly, such as in diabetes and paralysis. They can be used to replace the damaged cells.
2- They can also be used for drug testing, as the cells can differentiate into any almost type of cell, so they can be used as the subject of testing for many different medications.

Some issues are that there may be risks, such as the transfer of viral infections. Some people also have ethical issues, especially since most stem cells are taken from embryonic stem cells, from embryos, so some believe that it is ‘killing’ an embryo, who they consider to be a person.
