Answer:

y = 1/2x + 4

Explanation:

The slope of the perpendicular line will have the complete opposite slope.

The perpendicular slope is 1/2x.

To get the slope I just got the opposite sign and reciprocal of -2.

NOW plug in (-4,2) to find the y-intercept

2 = 1/2(-4) + b (b represents y-intercept)

2 = -2 + b (add 2 on both sides)

4 = b

y = 1/2x + 4 is the final equation
