Explanation:

What we can do here is break the given expression into groups;

x^2-11x+28 ---> break the expression into groups

(x^2-4x) +(-7x+ 28) ---> factor out x from x^2-4x

x(x-4) + (-7x +28) ---> factor - 7 from -7x +28

x(x-4) -7(x-4) ---> combine

(x-7)(x-4)

so if f(x) = (x-7)(x-4) then the roots would be x=7 and x=4
