f(2)=-2 , we can write:


-2=2m+b

From
f(1)=1 , we can write:


1=m+b

To find for
m, we can substract the second equation from the first:


2m+b-(m+b) = -2-1


2m+b-m-b=-3


m=-3

To find for
b, we can use substitution:


1 = m+b


1 = -3+b


b=4


f(x) = -3x+4 is the linear function.
