As relation between Cartesian coordinates (x,y) and polar coordinates (r,θ) is given by x=rcosθ and y=rsinθ i.e. r2=x2+y2 .
As r=8cosθ can be written as.
r×r=8rcosθ or.
r2=8rcosθ or.
x2+y2=8x.
