Answer:

x = 2

y = 1/2

Explanation:

3x - 2y = 5

x + 2y = 3

We don't have to mutiply anything because we have values that we can eliminate.-2y and 2y can be crossed off becuase they have the same value and plus and minus cancel out. We can add instead of changing the signs.

4x = 8

x = 2

Now we know that x = 2. To find y we have to plug in x into one of the equations. I am going to use x + 2y = 3.

2 + 2y = 3

2y = 1

y = 1/2
