Why did Europeans, and not some other people like Asians or Africans, engage in exploration in fifteenth century?

The Europeans had their route to the silk road cut off by a muslim power, the Ottoman Empire. The Europeans then used ships to sail into the atlantic, with them trying to find another route to India. North Africa, the main developed region of Africa was under the subjugation of the Ottomans, and the rest of Africa either had small kingdoms, or tribes and they also had far less advanced weapons and ships. Most Asians did not see a need to expand past Asia.
