The value of k = 4.6 m

Explanation:

As you see in the question diagram, quadrilateral WXYZ is the same shape as quadrilateral ABCD, but it's two times larger.

The reason is that one of the lengths BC of the quadrilateral ABCD is 4.2 m, and its corresponding length XY of the quadrilateral WXYZ is twice times larger.

i.e. 4.2 × 2 = 8.4 m

As the quadrilaterals are similar. It means if the length CD of the quadrilateral ABCD is 2.3 m, its corresponding length YZ of the quadrilateral WXYZ must be twice times larger.

i.e. 2.3 × 2 = 4.6 m

Therefore, the value of k = 4.6 m
