Answer:

x = 70

Explanation:

Given

Molly: 50 out of 200

Joel: x out of 280

Required

Find x

Start by representing the giving parameters as ration

Molly= 50 : 200

Joel = x : 280

From the question, the ratios are equivalent. So,

50 : 200 = x : 280

Convert to fractions

(50)/(200) = (x)/(280)

Solve for x

x = (50)/(200) * 280

x = (1)/(4) * 280

x = (280)/(4)

x = 70
